These Terms and Conditions apply when you use this website, send an enquiry, request a quote, complete a questionnaire or work with Design by Maria on branding, logo design, website design, graphic design or social media graphics.
Design by Maria is based in Aberdeen, Scotland. You can contact me at info@designbymaria.co.uk.
The content on this website is provided for general information about my design services. You must not misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its security or copy website content, images, layouts, copywriting or branding without permission.
Completing a form, questionnaire or sending an enquiry does not create a contract. A project begins only once the scope, quote, timeline and payment terms have been agreed in writing. Quotes are based on the information provided at the time and may change if the project scope changes.
You are responsible for providing accurate information, feedback, text, images, access details and approvals needed for your project. You must have the right to use any content, images, fonts, files, trademarks or materials you provide.
Project timelines are estimates and depend on receiving content, feedback and approvals on time. Revisions included in a project will be confirmed in the quote or brief. Additional revisions, new directions or extra work outside the agreed scope may be quoted separately.
Payment terms will be set out in your quote or invoice. A deposit may be required before work begins. Late payments may pause the project or delay final delivery. Final files, launch support or handover may be withheld until the agreed payment has been received.
If you need to cancel a project, please contact me in writing as soon as possible. You may be charged for work completed, time reserved, project planning or costs already incurred. Deposits may be non-refundable where work has begun or time has been reserved.
Design by Maria keeps ownership of concepts, drafts, working files and unused ideas unless agreed otherwise. Once the agreed project fee has been paid in full, you may use the final approved deliverables for your business in line with the agreed project scope.
Logo design does not guarantee trademark availability or legal registration. If you need trademark protection, you should seek specialist legal advice before using or registering a logo or brand name.
I may display completed work, client names, screenshots or project visuals in my portfolio, website, social media or marketing unless confidentiality has been agreed in writing before the project begins.
Some projects may involve third-party services such as domain registrars, hosting providers, plugins, fonts, stock libraries, email platforms, payment tools or social media platforms. These services are subject to their own terms, pricing and availability.
For website projects, you are responsible for checking that your website content, business information, policies, legal pages and product or service claims are accurate and suitable for your business. I can help design and implement website pages, but I do not provide legal, tax or regulated business advice.
I aim to provide careful, professional design services. However, Design by Maria is not responsible for indirect losses, loss of profit, third-party platform outages, hosting issues, search engine ranking changes, client-provided errors or problems caused by services outside my control.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled by the courts of Scotland unless another legal requirement applies.
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
